Avicenna Conference

Avicenna, the leading independent pharmacy support group, will host a UK conference in Cambridge on 18-19 September 2010.

The key theme of the conference is “Preparing Today for Tomorrow”.  Over the two day event, leading pharmacy figures - including Bob Nicholls, Chairman of the GPC, Jonathan Mason, National Clinical Director for Pharmacy Care and Community Pharmacy for the DoH, Steve Lutener, Head of Regulation at the PSNC and Sid Dajani, Vice-Chair of the English Pharmacy Board - will speak about the next phase of changes facing the profession.

The conference, will give members the opportunity to discuss and share best practice on the issues at hand.  Key topics to be discussed include:
o    The impact of GPhC on pharmacists – what issues does the pharmacist need to be aware of?
o    Demystifying the government’s White Paper – is it an opportunity or a threat?
o    The role of the English Pharmacy Board
o    Regulatory issues – what is PNA and how does it effect control of entry

Avicenna has also organised a series of social activities for participants.  Members can enjoy a game of golf at the Cambridge Meridian Golf Club or take a walking tour of the city plus there is a chauffeured punting tour for those who really want to relax in style!
