About Us

Medical Communications has become the leading regional publisher for pharmacy in the UK, engaging in strategic partnerships in Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and the recently-launched English Pharmacy Review.

Our annual pharmacy and healthcare award ceremonies are attracting more and more applicants with each passing year. We now aim to become the UK’s No.1 communicator for the entire pharmacy and healthcare profession.

Medical Communications takes a new, innovative approach to community pharmacy, showing both how it collaborates with other healthcare professionals and how it interacts with primary and secondary care.

In the past, many pharmacists – especially independent contractors - worked in isolation. Medical Communications is fully cognisant of the fact that pharmacists need to find ways to bring down the barriers and forge good working relationships with other primary care specialists.

Each of the company’s magazines provides a valuable service in covering the healthcare systems in the devolved countries as they move off in different directions. The uniqueness of having specific publications for each region is increasingly important because the environment is changing in each of those countries at differential rates and in different directions. The magazines also help to cement the pharmacy community in those areas by focusing on the issues that pertain specifically to those countries.

The most important thing the magazines do is to make sure they aren’t overwhelmed by the large multiple agenda that seems to trying to overwhelm everything else that goes on in pharmacy. There are some publications that are terrified of upsetting the large corporate agenda to the extent that what they write about doesn’t really reflect what the pharmacy general mainstream opinion is. As a result, they simply reflect matters that are either neutral and inoffensive, or those which are entirely supportive of the large multiple agenda. At Medical Communications we believe in dealing with the issues that matter to the pharmacist and, more importantly, deal with them in a totally professional way.
